Chemical Peels

Acid peels come from a family of natural compounds found in plants, fruits and sour milk. These treatments can effectively reduce fine wrinkles, improve the appearance of aged and sun damaged skin. Some of these acids can also dissolve acne causing dirt and oil. Most peeling treatments are progressive meaning multiple treatments must be performed to achieve desired effects.

Chemical Peel Options

TCA Peel

The TCA Peel is only administered by the physician and is often employed at the time of facial cosmetic surgical procedures to remove brown spots and reduce fine wrinkles. The chemical peel heals over the same time course as the cosmetic surgery.

VI Peel $200+

The VI Peel is safely administered by our skilled aestheticians and is suitable for all skin types. It improves tone and clarity of the skin, can reduce or eliminate age spots, freckles and hyperpigmentation including melasma; can soften lines and wrinkles, clear acne skin conditions, reduce or eliminate acne scars and stimulate production of collagen for firmer, more youthful skin. This peel can provide dramatic results with no pain, no skin preparation and little downtime.

Illuminize Peel $110

This is the most gentle of the SkinMedica peels and is safely administered by our aestheticians. It’s used to improve the appearance of mild skin imperfections such as sun-damage, fine lines and wrinkles and pigmentary irregularities. Great for first time chemical peel patients or those looking for a gentle peel.

Typically, patients experience no downtime and no visible peeling. Illuminize can be repeated every two weeks. For best results, complete a series of 3-6 peels.

Vitalize Peel $170

This is the most popular SkinMedica peel and is safely administered by our aestheticians. It’s suitable for all skin types and provides predictable, noticeable results. It’s used for mild to moderate skin imperfections, including sun-damage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, acne scarring, and melasma.

Typically, patients experience mild to moderate peeling approximately 2-3 days after the procedure that lasts about 3-5 days. Vitalize can be repeated every 3-4 weeks. For best results, complete a series of 3-6 peels.

Rejuvenize Peel $225

The strongest of the SkinMedica peels targets the deeper layers of the epidermis for enhanced exfoliation and is safely administered by our aestheticians. It improves moderate to severe skin imperfections including sun-damage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, acne scarring, and melasma. Darker skin types require physician consent or established tolerance to Vitalize Peel.

Typically patients experience moderate peeling that starts approximately 2-3 days after the procedure and can last for up to five days. Rejuvenize can be repeated every 4-6 weeks. For best results, complete a series of 3-6 peels.

AHA Alphahydroxy Acid Peels

Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce excellent results. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can’t spare the time to recover from deeper peel treatment.
